Meet the Team – Michelle Neaves Michelle has been working in the human services field for almost 25 years in a variety of settings. These include education (11 and up), youth work, Probation – like Parole officers here in Canada. Michelle has worked with victims of domestic abuse and works with high risk clients involved with Social Services. Michelle is currently a Family Consultant in her part time career supporting families with parenting issues, individual struggles such as anxiety, depression and past trauma. Michelle is a registered counsellor and certified in trauma counselling. She works with people who have experienced trauma and some of the after-effects of trauma such as anxiety, depression and PTSD as well as couples experiencing relationship struggles, men and woman who feel they have anger, temper and frustration struggles and parents who are experiencing ‘feeling at their wits end and powerless’ with their children – no matter what the age. For Michelle, being able to combine her passion of horses with her other passion of supporting people through her work as a counsellor, in her opinion, makes her a very happy and content person. Michelle has extensive training in a multitude of areas. Michelle became a Certified FEEL facilitator (Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning) in 2014 and works in partnership with these powerful animals. Michelle attributes her success with clients by combining talk therapy with these beautiful equine beings. Michelle has a BA Hons in Community Justice Studies. She is a Master Registered Counsellor (MRC) with two registering bodies. FEEL certified. Michelle is certified in Trauma counselling. |
